Friday photo post

I have that goal for 2015: working and improving my food photography. I mean, why having that food blog without working on my photography skills? Especially that i love photography since i was something like 10 years old.

So i decided to be part of several photo challenges and groups.

Thanks to my dear blog mate Jen, i’ll try to share with you every friday and add my post on her link party. I ‘ll try not to get you bored with cakes photos all the time. I swear.

I want to use this space to work on different light, natural and artificial, on composition and all that stuff.

These first pictures are taken with natural light. I didn’t touch anything on editing afterwards. Tell me what do you think? What do you prefer? I find it so difficult to take pictures from above but i see them a lot on cook books, so i gave it a try.  I’m really critical with my work and i see all the defects here. For example, why didn’t i just cut a slice of that ginger loaf???

So, what do you think? By the way, the ginger loaf is very good! And you can find the recipe here.

Enjoy your week end.

  • Hi! I found you from the Pierced Wonderings link-up. I love these photos, especially the first one and the second to last, the light is beautiful and the composition works really well. Food photography is harder than it looks, but it’s fun to play around with (and eat after you’re done!)

Thanks Jessica. That’s so kind of you. Indeed, it’s difficult. But more we train, better we become. 🙂
The more difficult is to hurry when you want to eat hot meal! haha

Kate, thank you so much for joining us! I appreciate all your support!

I kinda like the first & last photo the best. I like the focus on the product and the blur of the background. It’s nicely done. I agree with you on the « cut a slice ». I would have liked to have seen that picture.

Thank you again for joining us! I look forward to next week’s entry 😉

Hey Jen. Next time i have to remember to slice the cake. Thanks for your comment. I also prefer the pictures blurred behind. I try to share something different for my next post.
