Healthy Summer Salad

Summer is coming!!! Yeah!!! And it brings a lot of good fruits and veggies, full of vitamines!

What about mixing fruits and vegetables in a salad? I always loved sweet and savory combined.

When tasting a new dish, it’s first an eye tasting. Looking at a colorful plate will send a message to your brain: « hey look at that! You are going to eat something very good! »

So I share with you those lovely salad plates for 2. The perfect romantic home picnic in the garden!

fruit and veggie salad

I added toasts of goat cheese and fresh raddish. Use some very good bread home made or from your french bakery 😉

How to build a veggie and fruity summer salad:

raw salad

– Use a base of green salad leaves

– Grate some raw beetroot

– Cut a pomelo in dices

– Cut some strawberries

– Add some cashew nuts and your favorite sauce (I use olive oil, balsamic vinegar and sesame seeds)

raddish toasts

Make a few toasts with young cheese (I used goat cheese but cream cheese should be perfect) and top them with slices of raddish.

You can use whatever raw fruits and veggies you have in your fridge. I like to add cherries also. And soon tomatoes will arrive!

Bon appétit!

Delicious!! You’re so lucky that summer is there! We’re heading into winter and I’m sadly kissing goodbye to my salads for winter recipes. Your salad looks absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for joining our Fabulous Foodie Fridays party xx

  • This looks yummo! I’ll keep it in mind for summertime he he x

  • I’ll have to keep this in mind for when the weather warms up again here.

Dropping by from Fabulous Foodie Fridays 🙂

  • Gosh this salad looks amazing, so pretty! I will be pinning this one to try when summer rolls around again. I hope you have a lovely weekend x

  • It looks so pretty – I’m all for the goats cheese and toast but I’m one of those weird people who just can’t mix fruit and veggies on a plate. My salad is either all fruit or all veggies but never together! I love the sound of that dressing. I’m totally going to try it when the weather warms up here.

  • Such a gorgeous looking salad. I’ve never used pomelo – I always look at them in the shops and wonder. Will be pinning this for the warmer weather for sure. Thanks for linking to YWF. x

    • I’ll tell you something strange… my kids love pomelo. Id they are not too acid! xx cathy

  • This looks so yummy!! I can’t wait for summer to come back to Australia, I miss the salads, I’m not much of a veggie fan. xx

  • What a lovely, crispy and fresh looking salad. It is June 17 and I have had enough of Winter already. x

  • I love the colours in this! I have to make a confession…. I’m the person who normally HATES mixing sweet and sour. Sultanas in curries? Eeeew. Pineapple in sweet and sour? Blergh. But you’re making me want to challenge my tastebuds! I might give this a go! x

    • I love sweet and sour!!! But I admit it could be strange… Go and try! You might discover some new… xx

  • Oh my Lord this salad makes me want to eat my computer screen. YUM!!!!!! xx

  • Yum! I love sweet and savoury mixed together too! My favourite sweet thing in salad is cranberries! I haven’t tried cherries but might have to give them a try in Summer!

    • Cherries are so sweet and soft and juicy, it’s a lovely combination in salads. Try it when it will be your summer! At that time I will be eating only soups and comfort food! 😉
